This year Comsol Wireless Solutions has joined forces with Alfie Cox Racing and KTM to sponsor what can be referred to as an enduro dream team. The elites will sport the likes of Chris Birch from New Zeeland – defending Roof of Africa and Romaniacs champion; William Gillit aka Wild Will and Dominic Mantle.
The team will be competing in all of the National Enduros, WFO’s and EWXC’s and some of the riders will also be contending in the 2011 Red Bull Romaniacs challenge. Without a doubt being one of the strongest teams competing this year, the focus is not only on being victorious, but also teaching the younger riders and developing them into serious athletes who can be of benefit to society and South Africa one day. Based in KwaZulu-Natal, Chris Birch will be presenting extreme enduro schools when he’s not racing. According to racing legend Alfie Cox, Birch will be a great benefit to South African riders who can learn from a master at the art of handling a bike.
Comsol CEO, Iain Stevenson, who was a participant in the 2011 Dakar, will again be supporting the Cipla Miles for Smiles foundation throughout the year, in order to create awareness for those born with cleft lip deformities. “Every R5500 raised will completely transform a child’s life and that’s why we will continue pioneering in order to create as much cognisance as possible for the foundation.”
The first race is set for 19 February in KZN, and should prove to be an exciting event. If you would like any further information on the riders or the Miles for Smiles foundation, you can go to:
